Microbiological Laboratory

Researches in the microbiological laboratory of "Astghik" MC are carried out in 2 ways: with the Vitek 2 automatic device and with the classic (manual) versions.

With the Vitek 2 automatic device, researches are carried out within 48-72 hours, during which the sensitivity of antibiotics is determined by MIC. Over the past 10 years, the microbiological laboratory has been furnished and equipped with the latest agars, media, accessories, and all necessary devices. The laboratory performs the latest research, including urogenital screening, Helicobacter pylori seeding, and genital β-
hemolytic streptococcus research. Researches are carried out with quality, responsibility, and timeliness. The staff is constantly retrained. The number of researches performed has increased about 6 times in the past 10 years.
Since 2017, the Microbiology Laboratory has been participating in and successfully receiving an external quality assessment certificate from the World Health Organization (WHO) European Office, Central Asia and Eastern Europe.
The Microbiology Laboratory participates in international programs implemented by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia, for example, the point prevalence survey of infections caused by medical interventions and the use of antimicrobial drugs at a given point in time.
The Microbiology Laboratory, in line with the working principles of "Astghik" MC, is constantly working to improve itself, keep pace with the times, and provide quality and courteous service.
